Privacy Policy
Negoto — Sleep Talk Recorder
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of Negoto (the “Developer”) handles information in the Negoto application (the “App”), why that information is used, and how it is stored or deleted.
1. About the App and its age rating
The App uses the device microphone to record and manage sounds made during sleep. Its App Store age rating of 4+ describes the age suitability of its content. It does not mean that the App is designed primarily for children or belongs to the Kids category.
If a minor uses the App, a parent or guardian should review this Policy, provide any consent required by applicable law, and manage permissions, advertising, purchases, and sharing features.
2. Information handled and purposes of use
Information processed and stored on the device
- Recordings: Used to detect sound, record, play, save, and perform sharing initiated by the user.
- Speech recognition results: When the Sleep Talk Filter is enabled, used to determine whether a recording contains human speech and to create a recording title.
- Recording metadata: Recording date and time, duration, title, and saved status are used to manage the recording and saved lists.
- App preferences: Recording sensitivity, filter settings, display and recognition language, selected theme, ad-based unlock status, and Premium status are used to preserve settings and provide features.
Information processed by external services
- Google AdMob (advertising for free users): IP address, device, OS and app information, advertising identifier when available under device settings and permissions, ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostic information may be processed for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and service improvement. The App requests non-personalized ads from AdMob.
- RevenueCat (in-app purchase management): A random anonymous user ID generated by RevenueCat, purchased products, purchase, subscription and entitlement status, store, and technical app and device information are processed to verify purchases, provide access, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and analyze purchase status. The App does not set a name or email address as the RevenueCat user ID.
- Apple (App Store, speech recognition, and OS features): Payments, purchase restoration, permission management, on-device speech recognition, and sharing selected by the user are handled through Apple services and operating-system features. The Developer does not receive payment-card information.
- Expo (app update delivery): App version, platform, OS, device, and technical update-request information may be processed to check for and deliver available app updates.
- Support information: If a user contacts support by email, the email address and message are used to respond, verify the request when necessary, provide purchase or troubleshooting support, and maintain support records.
3. Recordings and speech recognition
The App does not send recordings or speech recognition results to the Developer, AdMob, RevenueCat, or Expo servers.
- Recordings are stored in the App’s local storage on the device.
- On supported devices, the Sleep Talk Filter requests Apple’s on-device speech recognition. If on-device recognition is unavailable, the App does not send the audio to an external recognition service; it keeps the recording without applying the filter.
- The Developer cannot access recordings stored in the App.
- Only when the user activates a sharing feature is the selected recording or generated video passed to the chosen destination. Information shared outside the App is governed by the destination’s policies.
- Depending on device backup settings, the App’s local storage may be included in an Apple iCloud or other device backup. Backups can be managed through device and Apple Account settings.
- If people nearby may be recorded, the user is responsible for providing any required notice, obtaining consent, and complying with applicable laws and the privacy rights of others.
4. Permissions and choices
- Microphone: Required to record audio. Recording is unavailable without permission.
- Speech recognition: Used by the Sleep Talk Filter. Recording remains available with the filter turned off if permission is not granted.
- Sharing and saving to Photos: OS sharing features and the selected destination are used only after the user chooses to share or save. The App does not automatically browse the photo library.
Microphone and speech-recognition permission can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings. Advertising identifier and tracking choices can also be changed in device settings. Withdrawing permission does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
5. Third parties and international processing
The Developer does not sell or disclose user information to third parties except where required by law, directed by the user through sharing, or processed by the service providers identified in this Policy. Service providers are expected, through contracts, published policies, and applicable law, to provide protection equivalent to or greater than that required by this Policy and Apple’s guidelines.
Information may be processed outside Japan by these providers. See the privacy policies of Google, RevenueCat, Apple, and Expo for details.
6. Retention and deletion
- Recordings on the Record tab are automatically deleted 24 hours after they are created. Recordings moved to Saved, their speech recognition results, metadata, and preferences remain on the device until deleted in the App or the App is uninstalled.
- Temporary recordings identified as containing no speech and temporary sharing videos are deleted by the App after processing.
- Files sent to a sharing destination, device backups, and Apple purchase records are not removed by deleting content in the App. Manage them through the relevant destination, device or cloud settings, or Apple.
- Information processed by AdMob, RevenueCat, Apple, and Expo is retained and deleted under each provider’s policies and legal obligations.
- Support information is retained as long as necessary to respond and prevent disputes, then deleted or anonymized unless a longer period is legally required.
To request access, correction, or deletion of information on external services that the Developer can control, contact the address below. Information needed to verify a purchase or request may be required.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed primarily to children and has no account feature that asks users to register a name, birth date, address, or email address. The Developer does not intend to collect personal information from children who require parental consent under applicable law without that consent.
If you believe a child’s information was sent to a service controlled by the Developer without required parental consent, contact the Developer below. The Developer will investigate and take appropriate action under applicable law.
8. Security
The Developer applies reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information handled, including local device storage, OS permission controls, and services that support encrypted communication. No security measure can guarantee complete safety. Users are encouraged to use a device passcode, keep the OS updated, and manage backup settings.
9. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be revised when necessary. Material changes will be announced by updating this page.
